The wine bar-restaurant, Gallo Nero, is found in the charming town of Greve in Chianti, just off the main square, Piazza Matteoti, in the heart of the world famous Tuscan area renowned for its fine wines, not by chance known as the “ wine road “, due to the centuries old association with the production of the best Chianti wine.

The Gallo Nero has ample parking space for clients; originally the location was a rest stop for travelers and still today it offers passers- by a perfect location for a meal, perhaps before continuing on to visit the beautiful surrounding countryside.

Here, in a traditional but charming and stylish ambience, you can chose from typical Tuscan dishes, appetizing starters, toasted breads and individually selected cuts of meat, cooked on the open wood fire, naturally all accompanied by the best wine Chianti has to offer.

In this calm and discreet atmosphere, you are our guests and we will warmly welcome you. The delights of your meal, the distinctive flavors of fine quality Tuscan meat including  spiced  sausages and the famous traditional Florentine steak,  toasted breads enriched with locally produced Extra Virgin olive oil, grilled local cheeses and homemade pasta made daily, all adhere to the traditional methods of Florentine cooking and use only the best and the freshest local ingredients.

The spacious and welcoming dining room of the Gallo Nero is perfect for corporate dinners, family groups, business lunches, celebrations and every occasion to get together in good company.

Our choice wine selection, chosen to enhance and compliment your meal, will delight and stimulate a wish to return to us in our restaurant, where a modern atmosphere meets the traditional flavors of Tuscany.

We make our own pasta  with eggs and flour, freshly made daily following the traditional methods, on antique wooden boards in our kitchen with the same input of passion employed by our Grandmothers.

Stuffed pasta, tagliatelle and pappardelle served with our fresh sauces, devised to enhance the flavors of the local Tuscan produce.

Grilled meats: the meat that we use is selected every day from our trustworthy local butcher. The flavor of the wood, the precision of the cooking time and the option to accentuate the flavor with a cheese or perhaps some fresh vegetables, ensure that our meat dishes are a culinary delight.                    

Our side plates, like our appetizers, give a taste of traditional local produce.

And last, but not at all least, we make our own deserts. Delicious deserts to round off your meal and send you home with a sweet memory of your evening with us, in our warm and charming restaurant.

The perfect spot to taste the treats of Chianti. Wonderful local meats, homemade pastas and extensive wine lists, topped off with some lovely desserts and all for a reasonable price. Greve-in-Chianti is at the very heart of the vineyard trail for all the wine enthusiasts, and Gallo Nero is always recommended by the locals.
