» Fiesole and San Domenico

Fiesole and San Domenico are villages located in one of the most spectacular, poetic landscapes in the world, the Florentine Hills. This area is luscious and green and is characterized by the presence of many elegant villas with gardens and swimming pools, and the best hotels of the city (like Villa San Michele with suites that can cost more than 5000€ per night!)
The rooms and the apartments here usually come with a sky-high price-tag, cost dependent on the view over the city and on whether the property features a garden or swimming pool. If you are coming to Florence with a car, this area is probably the best place for you…here you won't have any problems with parking, and you'll be able to reach Florence (10 minutes by car) and the rest of Tuscany very, very easily. Not to be missed if you decide to live here a) The Roman Theatre of Fiesole, b) the breathtaking view from Via San Francesco, c) the Restaurant La Reggia (highly recommended, price around 40-50€ per person), in Via di San Francesco, d) La Pizzeria San Domenico (20-25€) in San Domenico, e) The Indian Restaurant (35-50€) in Fiesole, f) The Badia Fiesolana at San Domenico (where the European Institute is located). If you aren't arriving with a car, you can easily reach Florence by bus in 15-20 minutes…. The bus service in Florence is extensive, very reliable and cost efficient. |
